Dirk Alan Leonardson, a 24-year-old deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost his life on October 4, 1980, in Riverside, California. On that fateful night, Deputy Leonardson was off-duty and at home when he heard a disturbance outside his apartment.
