Bryan Dennis Tuvera, a 28-year-old police officer with the San Francisco Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 22, 2006. Officer Tuvera was in pursuit of an escaped convict when the incident occurred. The suspect, identified as Marlon Ruff, had been on the run since February 2005 after escaping from a state prison firefighting camp in Humboldt County. Ruff was considered armed and dangerous, with a history of violent crimes, including a robbery in Daly City in 2003.
