Armando G. Herrera, a 32-year-old Latino, tragically lost his life on February 5, 2007, in Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred in the Boyle Heights neighborhood, specifically at 1700 Pomeroy Avenue. On that fateful night, a neighbor heard gunshots and discovered Herrera lying on the sidewalk, gravely wounded. The neighbor immediately drove him to County-USC Medical Center, but despite their efforts, Herrera succumbed to his injuries at 3:16 a.m.
