Ricardo Chavez, a 19-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on May 31, 2009, in Paramount, California. The incident occurred around 11:29 p.m. in the 15100 block of Gundry Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Chavez was standing on the sidewalk when two African-American men approached him.
