Ruben Fematt, a 48-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on June 18, 2011, in Wilmington, Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1:50 a.m., in the alley behind his home on North Sanford Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Fematt was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, striking him multiple times in the chest.
