Justice Toliver, a 17-year-old resident of Oakland, California, tragically lost her life on January 23, 2014. The incident occurred at her family’s home in Oakland’s Chinatown neighborhood. Justice was fatally shot by her 14-year-old brother, Mario Toliver Jr., during an argument. Initial reports suggested that the argument was over laundry, specifically that Justice had bleached her brother's clothes. However, the defense later argued that the shooting was accidental.
