In the summer of 2017, the city of Baltimore was shaken by the brutal and senseless killing of Waddell Tate, a 97-year-old African-American male and World War II veteran. On July 21st, Mr. Tate was found dead in his home on Darley Avenue, a residence he had owned for over six decades. His daughter, Sylvia Swann, made the horrific discovery after growing concerned when he did not answer his phone. She found him in his bedroom, bloodied and partially covered with blankets.
