Christopher Vega Hernandez, a 19-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on June 5, 2014, in Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred on the 4300 block of West Sunset Boulevard, situated on the border of East Hollywood and Silverlake. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Hernandez was walking along West Sunset Boulevard shortly before 10:58 a.m. when a four-door vehicle pulled alongside him.
Witnesses reported that an individual inside the vehicle fired multiple shots at Hernandez. The gunman was described as a Latino male in his 20s. After the shooting, the vehicle fled east on West Sunset Boulevard toward Fountain Avenue. Hernandez was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:26 a.m.
