Daneyal Mohammad Siddique, a 40-year-old resident of Redway, California, was tragically killed on October 22, 2014. The incident occurred at the Dean Creek Resort, where Siddique was staying. According to reports, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office received a call about a gunshot around 12:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Siddique with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The investigation revealed that Siddique had been involved in an argument with Jason Armstrong, a 40-year-old man from Dumas, Texas, who had recently moved to the area. Armstrong was arrested at the scene after surrendering to the deputies. He was booked into the county jail on suspicion of murder, with his bail set at $1 million. The case proceeded to trial, where Armstrong was found guilty of second-degree murder. The jury also found that Armstrong had intentionally discharged a firearm, causing Siddique's death. Armstrong was sentenced to 40 years to life in state prison.
