Vuitton Garrett, a 24-year-old man from Modesto, was killed on May 9, 2010, in Oakland, California. The incident occurred during a violent altercation at an unlicensed music club that was hosting a CD release party. Around 2:45 a.m., a gunman opened fire at the event, killing both Garrett and another individual named Deshawn Valentine, and injuring four others. The shooting took place at a warehouse located on Chestnut Street in Oakland.
