A six-time felon appeared in court today on a murder charge for the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in East Oakland in October 2016 but delayed entering a plea until he returns to court on June 8.
Jose De La Cruz, 44, is charged in the shooting death of 22-year-old Adrian Rios at a house in the 1200 block of 95th Avenue on Oct. 10, 2016.
Oakland police found Rios' body at about 9:24 a.m. that day but aren't sure how long he had been dead.
