Matthew William Rivera, aged 63, was found dead on February 9, 2015, in Downtown Long Beach, California. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Rivera's death was initially reported as a possible suicide. He was discovered on the Promenade near 3rd Street with a weapon recovered at the scene.
