Ellis Spillman, a 42-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2018. The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Spillman inside a residence with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Despite the efforts of the Long Beach Fire Department, Spillman was pronounced dead at the scene.
