Tomas J. Luna Gomez, a 21-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on March 28, 2015, near Centinela Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard in Playa Vista, California. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Gomez was at a stoplight in his Dodge pickup truck around 8:15 p.m. when a sedan pulled up beside him. A person inside the sedan opened fire, striking Gomez. After being shot, Gomez crashed into the car in front of him and then managed to drive to his home near Slauson Avenue
