On September 12, 2015, 14-year-old Cesar Perez Mendoza, a freshman at Selma High School, was tragically shot and killed in Selma, California. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. near Nebraska and Thompson avenues, right outside his family's apartment. Cesar was on his way to Saturday school when he was found with multiple gunshot wounds on a sidewalk. Despite being rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
