Jovany Calderon, a 29-year-old resident of Selma, California, tragically lost his life on October 27, 2019. The incident occurred early in the morning when officers received a call about a man down in the street on Sherman and Young Streets near Heartland School. Upon arrival, investigators discovered that Calderon had been shot after speaking to a suspect in a vehicle. Despite officers performing CPR at the scene, Calderon was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries
