On a summer afternoon in Ogunquit, Maine, 13-year-old Mary C. Olenchuk, a Caucasian female, vanished, leaving behind a mystery that would haunt the small coastal town for decades. It was Sunday, August 9, 1970, and Mary had been at the beach with her mother and sister. Around 4 p.m., she left to walk into town to buy a pack of gum.
