scrawled in ink on the hardwood floor that read, "Sorry, my first kill was clumsy." Another note stated, "I can't be like you, telling a lie. I can't love someone without telling them."
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of the couple's two sons, Hasib Bin Golam Rabbi, aged 22, and his 17-year-old brother. Both were charged with the murders of their parents. Hasib was taken into custody in Tracy, California, while his younger brother was arrested in San Jose. The elder son, Hasib, initially claimed that a stranger had assaulted him and forced him to commit the murders, but this account was not substantiated.
