Anabell Flores, a 15-year-old girl from Oceanside, California, was tragically killed on September 3, 2016. The incident occurred at Balderrama Park, where she was found unresponsive on a playground structure, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The Oceanside Police Department (OPD) responded to reports of shots fired in the area around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Flores on the playground equipment near some handball courts.
Despite their efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The police indicated that the shooting was not random and that Flores was likely targeted.

Two men, Daniel Ramos and Elias Ramos, were later arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.
