Tony Rodrick Welch, a 24-year-old man from Compton, California, tragically lost his life on October 17, 2016, following a shooting incident that occurred the previous night. Welch was sitting in his car with two friends on the 600 block of West Cherry Street around 10 p.m. on October 16, 2016. As they were parked outside one of their homes, two men approached the vehicle and attempted to open the doors. When they failed, one of the men on the driver's side began shooting through the windshield.
