On October 2, 2001, 84-year-old Helen Caron tragically died in an apartment fire on Ash Street in Lewiston, Maine. The fire was quickly determined to be arson, though authorities believe Helen was not specifically targeted. The fire spread rapidly, trapping Helen inside the building, and she was unable to escape.
