On October 25, 2023, Lucille Marie "Lucy" Violette, 73, of Lewiston, Maine, was tragically killed alongside her husband, Robert "Bob" Violette, during a mass shooting at Just-In-Time Recreation, a local bowling alley. The couple was present during a youth bowling league event when the shooting occurred. Bob, a dedicated youth bowling coach, was reportedly attempting to shield children from the gunfire at the time of the incident.
