Jose Luis Velasco, a 38-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on April 29, 2017, in the Green Meadows neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Velasco was sitting in a silver BMW parked in a driveway around 3 a.m. when an assailant approached and fired at him at close range.
