Eddie Cardenas, a 34-year-old resident of El Monte, California, was tragically shot and killed on October 23, 2017. The incident occurred in the 4100 block of Shirley Avenue, where Cardenas lived in a small travel trailer behind his mother's house. On the morning of his death, El Monte police officers responded to a call around 7 a.m. and found Cardenas in a semi-fetal position just outside the door of his trailer, with one leg extended over the threshold.
