Leonardo Navarro, a 13-year-old from Santa Maria, California, tragically lost his life on February 3, 2018, due to an accidental shooting. The incident occurred when Leonardo's older brother, Fernando Navarro, who was 19 at the time, was handling a firearm that unintentionally discharged. The shooting took place in the 600 block of West Polk Street. Leonardo was critically injured and subsequently airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
