Antonio D. Brown, an 18-year-old man from Los Angeles, California, tragically lost his life on August 18, 2018. The incident occurred in the Vermont Square neighborhood, specifically in the 1000 block of West 46th Street. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, the events leading to his death began the previous night, around 11:50 p.m., when Brown got into a dispute with another individual in the backyard of a home.
During this altercation, Darien Percy Simmons, a 23-year-old man, pulled out a gun and shot Brown. Brown was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:18 a.m. on August 18, 2018.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) quickly identified Simmons as the suspect in the shooting. He was subsequently charged with one count of murder by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. Simmons was scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on October 31, 2018.
