Melanie Benitez, a 27-year-old resident of Alpine, California, tragically lost her life on February 23, 2019. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. Melanie was found near a parked vehicle in the 2800 block of Victoria Drive in Alpine, following reports of gunfire in the area. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
