On December 7, 2016, 21-year-old Lisa Williams was fatally shot in San Francisco's Mission District near South Van Ness Avenue and 18th Street. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and saw people fleeing the scene. Despite a swift response from the police, Williams succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
