On a Sunday evening in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 13, 2011, Ellijah Grant, a 23-year-old Black / African American male, was with others watching the New Orleans Saints play an overtime game. During a commercial break, he was standing outside when a car drove by and shots were fired into the crowd. Ellijah Grant was struck by the gunfire and tragically lost his life.
