On July 22, 2019, Jose Ruben Ayon, aged 43, was fatally shot in Delano, California. The incident occurred in the 10000 block of San Jose Avenue around 3 p.m. Ayon was transported to Delano Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later. The Kern County Sheriff's Office identified Ruben Mirola, aged 39, as the suspect in Ayon's death. Mirola was arrested on suspicion of murder and other related offenses.
