Joe Anthony Ruiz, a 32-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on August 29, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 8110 block of South Broadway in the Florence neighborhood. Ruiz was working as a clerk in an unauthorized marijuana shop when two individuals entered the establishment and opened fire.
