Brian David Ishmael, a 37-year-old deputy with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on October 23, 2019, in Somerset, California. Deputy Ishmael was responding to a call about a theft from a private marijuana garden in the rural Sierra Nevada foothills. The call came from Christopher Ross, the property owner, who reported that several men were stealing marijuana plants.
