Joshua Allen Pitts, a 35-year-old man from Los Angeles, California, was tragically shot and killed on October 30, 2019. The incident occurred near 252nd Street and Normandie Avenue in Harbor City. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division responded to a call of a shooting around 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Pitts suffering from a gunshot wound, with bystanders attempting to assist him.
Despite their efforts, Pitts was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:39 p.m.
Investigations revealed that moments before the shooting, Pitts had engaged in an argument with another individual. The altercation escalated when the gunman walked into an alley, turned around, and shot Pitts in the chest. The suspect, identified as Isiah Thomas, a 29-year-old man, was subsequently charged with one count of murder and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges also included an allegation that a gun was used during the murder. Thomas was scheduled to appear in court on November 20, 2019.
