Angel Trejo, a 16-year-old from San Joaquin, California, tragically lost his life on December 9, 2019. The incident occurred during a confrontation with his mother's ex-boyfriend, Hileberto Valtierra. On that fateful day, Angel, along with his 20-year-old brother Esteban and their mother Leticia Rodriguez-Alejo, was in the process of moving out of the apartment they shared with Valtierra. The relationship between Rodriguez-Alejo and Valtierra had recently ended, and tensions were high. As they were moving, Valtierra began to insult Rodriguez-Alejo, prompting Angel to intervene and ask him to stop disrespecting his mother.
