Christian David Silva, a 28-year-old tattoo artist from La Habra, California, tragically lost his life on February 22, 2020, in Artesia, California. Silva had been visiting a friend's home in Artesia on the evening of February 21. As he was driving home alone shortly after midnight, an unknown assailant fired shots into his car near the intersection of 167th Street and Clarkdale Avenue. The gunfire struck Silva in the head, causing him to lose control of his vehicle, which subsequently crashed into a fence. Silva was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following afternoon at 2:22 p.m. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner listed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation into Silva's death revealed that he was not involved in any gang activities. However, authorities suspect that he might have been mistakenly targeted by gang members who believed he was someone else. Despite efforts by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, no description of the shooter has been provided, and the case remains unsolved.
