Jordan Holmes, an 18-year-old resident of Oakland, was fatally shot on August 1, 2016, in East Oakland. The incident occurred on the 5700 block of Avenal Avenue during the night. When police arrived, they found Holmes suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and authorities did not immediately identify any suspects or motive for the crime.
