On June 2, 2021, Sidney Thompson, a 24-year-old resident of Riverside, California, was found dead inside a parked car in the 6100 block of Quail Valley Court, a commercial area near Box Springs Mountain. Responding firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene around 6:20 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that Thompson had been shot, leading authorities to treat the case as a homicide.
