Mayra Uriarte, a 36-year-old mother of three from West Valley City, Utah, tragically lost her life on November 25, 2021, in a murder-suicide incident in Goleta, California. The incident occurred at the Best Western Motel on Calle Real, where she was shot by her ex-husband, Hector Manuel Altamirano Martinez, 37, who then turned the gun on himself. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene at approximately 11:10 a.m. and found both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
