Train was apprehended in the area of 10th Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Significant evidence had been gathered linking Train to the shooting. At the time of his arrest, Train was found in possession of a loaded firearm and illegal narcotics. He was subsequently booked on multiple charges, including one count of murder, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of possession of narcotics, and a parole violation. Train was held at the Long Beach City Jail with bail set at $2,000,000.
The case against Train was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration. The motive behind the shooting remained unclear, and detectives continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting might have been gang-related, although this was not definitively established.
