Nashon Wall, a 31-year-old resident of Signal Hill, was tragically killed on February 2, 2022, in Long Beach, California. The incident occurred in the 700 block of East Esther Street, where Wall was lured under the pretense of a drug deal. According to prosecutors, Jalen Jackson, Jahi Jackson, and Saeed Wheeler orchestrated the plan to rob Wall. They convinced him to meet them with the intention of purchasing marijuana. However, upon his arrival, Wall was ambushed and fatally shot. Surveillance footage from a nearby apartment complex captured the three men fleeing the scene with firearms in hand shortly after the shooting.

The investigation revealed that Jahi Jackson had been searching for weed dealers on Instagram in the weeks leading up to the incident, plotting to rob one of them. On the day of the murder, Jalen Jackson contacted Wall multiple times to arrange the meeting. The surveillance video showed the three suspects approaching Wall's vehicle, with Jalen Jackson opening the front passenger door and Wheeler opening the back passenger door. Although the video did not capture the moment of the shooting, other evidence, including ballistics and a coroner's report, confirmed that Wall was struck by bullets from the side where Jalen had opened the door.

Following the murder, the Long Beach Police Department launched an extensive investigation. On March 9, 2022, an arrest warrant was issued for Saeed Wheeler, who was already in custody on an unrelated charge. Wheeler faced new charges, including one count of murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and unlawful possession of ammunition. On June 1, 2022, Jalen Jackson was arrested and charged with one count of murder. He was held on $2,000,000 bail. Later, on July 29, 2022, Jahi Jackson was also arrested and charged with murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. He too was held on $2,000,000 bail.

The trial for the three suspects began in early 2024. The prosecution presented evidence, including surveillance footage and social media activity, to demonstrate the premeditated nature of the crime. On February 22, 2024, the jury convicted Jalen Jackson and Jahi Jackson of murder, while Saeed Wheeler was acquitted of the murder charge. The case highlighted the dangers of social media in facilitating criminal activities and underscored the importance of thorough investigative work in bringing perpetrators to justice. The community of Long Beach continues to mourn the loss of Nashon Wall, whose life was cut short by this senseless act of violence.
