Maurice Ahearn, a 32-year-old special police officer with the New Rochelle Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 20, 1903. Officer Ahearn was shot and killed while attempting to question a suspect involved in a burglary. The incident occurred during his patrol in Rochelle Park, New Rochelle, NY. Ahearn had served with the police department for four years and was known for his dedication and commitment to his duties.
