Kimonte Washington, a 17-year-old Black male from New Orleans, Louisiana, was killed by gunfire on the morning of February 12, 2015, in the St. Claude area. The shooting happened just after 9 a.m. on the 1900 block of Port Street, a stretch of neighborhood roadway where a routine walk should have ended at a front door, not in flashing lights and taped-off pavement.
