Detective Horace L. Ford, a 39-year-old officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 6, 1978, in Queens, New York. Detective Ford was off duty and working part-time as a teller at the Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company branch on Kissena Boulevard in Flushing when the incident occurred.
