Anthony J. Abruzzo Jr., a 34-year-old police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 16, 1981, in Queens, New York. Officer Abruzzo was off-duty at the time of his death, which occurred when he attempted to intervene in a robbery involving his father-in-law in Flushing, Queens.
