On a late summer evening in Brooklyn, the life of a promising young man was tragically cut short in an act of brutal deception. Scott Parker, a 25-year-old male, was a dedicated police officer with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. On August 30, 1983, while off-duty in Coney Island, he stopped to help a woman who appeared to be in distress, claiming she had been robbed.
