Constantino Paul Castellano, widely known as 'Big Paul,' was a prominent crime boss who led the Gambino crime family in New York City. Born on June 26, 1915, Castellano rose to power following the death of Carlo Gambino in 1976. His reign, however, came to a violent end on December 16, 1985, when he was assassinated in Manhattan, New York.
