On a fall evening in 1994, the life of a young Black man named Anthony Merisier was cut short. At the age of 25, he was shot and killed during a traffic stop in New York. The incident occurred on October 24, 1994, when he was pulled over by a New York City Police Department officer. During the encounter, the officer discharged their weapon, fatally wounding Merisier.
