Christoffer Burmeister, a 27-year-old Danish musician, tragically lost his life on February 23, 1997, during a mass shooting at the Empire State Building in New York City. Burmeister, who was living in New York and played in a band, was visiting the iconic landmark with his bandmate, Matthew Gross, when the incident occurred.
