A visit to a world-famous landmark turned into a scene of terror and tragedy on February 23, 1997, when a gunman opened fire on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. Among the victims was Christoffer Burmeister, a 27-year-old Danish musician, whose life was cut short in the violent attack. The male victim was with his bandmate in New York to perform.
