In a case that remained a mystery for nearly a decade, the story of Pamela Graddick's death is one of love, betrayal, and the unyielding pursuit of justice. Pamela, a 26-year-old female, was tragically found deceased on September 4, 2012, her body discovered wrapped in a large black garbage bag in a wooded area in Yonkers, New York. An investigation quickly determined that she had been shot twice in the head at a different location and her body had been dumped in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Early in the investigation, Pamela's live-in girlfriend, Wanda Veguilla, was considered a person of interest, but a lack of sufficient evidence stalled any potential charges. A fresh look at Pamela's cellphone, which was recovered near the crime scene, provided the evidence needed to dismantle Veguilla's long-standing alibi. During a lengthy interview with detectives, Wanda Veguilla confessed to the murder. She admitted to shooting and killing Pamela in the Bronx apartment they shared, citing ongoing domestic issues between them. The investigation revealed that Veguilla had obtained the murder weapon from an accomplice, John Torres. After the murder, Torres then assisted Veguilla in moving Pamela's body from their apartment to the woods in Yonkers.
Following her confession, Wanda Veguilla was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. John Torres was also arrested and faced charges of criminal facilitation in the second degree, hindering prosecution in the first degree, and tampering with physical evidence. In April 2023, Veguilla pleaded guilty to the charges against her. A couple of months later, in June 2023, she was sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison for the murder of Pamela Graddick. John Torres reached a plea deal and was sentenced to six months in jail for his role in the crime. The resolution of the case brought a measure of closure to Pamela's family, who had endured years of uncertainty, with her sister expressing the deep pain of Veguilla's betrayal, noting that she had even attended the funeral.
