In the early morning hours of July 8, 2015, the life of 21-year-old Deriante Deshawn Jones, a male resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. At approximately 1:23 a.m., police responded to a call on Allen Street, where they discovered Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Deriante, known to some as 'Dee,' was born on December 31, 1993.
His death was one of several homicides that occurred during what was described as a particularly violent week in New Orleans.
In the years that have followed, information regarding the investigation into Deriante Jones's murder has been scarce. Despite the passage of time, there have been no publicly announced arrests, and no suspects have been officially named in connection with his shooting. The case remains open, and a reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment is still being offered by Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans.
